Access Cabot Public Records

Cabot public records are organized through a city, county, and state access path. To search Cabot public records well, start by matching the record type to the right custodian: Cabot City Hall for municipal records, Lonoke County offices for court, recorder, clerk, property, and jail records, and Arkansas statewide portals for court, vital, voter, license, and correction records. Some records can be checked online, while others require a written request, an office counter, or proof that the requester is eligible to receive the copy.

Cabot Public Records by Record Set

The practical records map for Cabot starts in Lonoke County because Cabot is in northwestern Lonoke County and is not the county seat. The county seat is Lonoke, so many certified copies and office-held files route to 301 North Center Street rather than to Cabot City Hall. The table below leads with the access channel for each major record set, including online portals, office fallbacks, and limits from Arkansas law.

Cabot public records do not all have the same access rule. A deed may be public but hard to pull online. A court docket may show parties and events but not every document. A recent birth certificate is not an open record for the general public. That is why the strongest route is custodian first, portal second, and written request when the web view stops short.

Cabot Public Records Across Three Levels

Cabot City Hall provides the municipal layer: city clerk and treasurer functions, planning and zoning, permits and inspections, code complaints, police contacts, ordinances, and local service records. The Cabot staff directory is useful for routing a request, but it is not the county case docket, deed index, marriage office, or property roll.

The county layer is heavier. The Lonoke County Circuit Clerk handles court files and recorder documents. The Lonoke County Clerk handles marriage licenses, assumed-name certificates, estates, adoptions and guardianships filings, notaries, quorum court, elections, and voter registration. The assessor and collector appear through ARCountyData for property and tax records. State portals fill the rest: Search ARCourts, ADH Vital Records, VoterView, state license searches, ADC inmate search, and the Arkansas sex offender registry.

Cabot routing tip. A Cabot address often points to a Lonoke County office first, then to a statewide portal if the county web page does not expose the file.

Lonoke Circuit Clerk for Cabot Records

The Lonoke County Circuit Clerk is the local custodian behind many Cabot records. The office keeps permanent circuit court records for civil, domestic relations, criminal, and juvenile divisions, while also serving as ex-officio recorder for deeds, mortgages, liens, surety bonds, and property instruments. The clerk site says permanent court records are public information except juvenile court records, and access is by written request.

The recorder side matters when an online property roll is not enough. ARCountyData can point to an owner, mailing address, parcel, tax receipt, or legal description, but deed history, mortgages, liens, and other recorded instruments may need the Circuit Clerk's real-estate recording channel. Use the recording phone, 501-676-3043, for real-estate recording questions and the office or court-records phone, 501-676-2316, for court-copy routing.

The Circuit Clerk contact page is one of the clearest access instructions in the research. It says email requests for a search or document are handled in the order received, paperwork is sent by mail, faxed copies cost $1.00 per page if approved, and certified copies must be mailed with prepayment.

Search ARCourts for Cabot Case Records

Search ARCourts is the statewide case-information portal for Arkansas courts using Contexte. For Cabot, it is the first online stop for Lonoke County circuit matters and any district court cases included in the system. The portal can show parties, judge, filings, charges and dispositions, future events, judgments, and document links for some public court records. It is still a portal, not the complete clerk file.

The Arkansas Judiciary help page explains that Search ARCourts supports public case searches when the person knows a party name or case number. The dynamic search screen did not expose every field label in static inspection, so the safe table is limited to the fields and modes confirmed by the Judiciary.

ARCountyData Records for Cabot Property

ARCountyData is the working online route for Cabot property and tax records. The Lonoke County page links assessor real-estate search and collector tax-record or receipt search, both sponsored free to the public. During research, the page listed 44,970 parcels and showed assessor and collector data updated July 10, 2026. It also listed optional Digital Photos, Current Year Tax Receipts, and Prior Year Payment History.

For a current ownership or mailing-address trail, start with the parcel or owner record. The key fields are owner name, mailing address, situs or physical address, parcel number, legal description, valuation, tax receipts, and possibly digital photos. For past ownership, use the parcel legal description and owner names to request recorder documents from the Circuit Clerk.

Vital Records for Cabot Families

Cabot vital records are not issued by Cabot City Hall. Arkansas Department of Health Vital Records issues certified birth, death, marriage, and divorce records statewide, and ADH says vital-record services are available in every county local health unit. The Lonoke County Clerk is still important because marriage licenses begin locally, while ADH issues the state marriage record or coupon after registration.

Ark. Code Ann. § 20-18-305 controls the public opening periods. Birth records become unrestricted after 100 years. Death, marriage, divorce, and annulment records become unrestricted after 50 years. Until those periods pass, certified copies are limited to eligible people and representatives with acceptable ID and proof of eligibility. ADH order channels include online, mail, walk-in, and telephone. The research found typical online timing of 7-14 business days after approval plus shipping, with mail requests also allowing 10-14 days plus mail.

For marriage in Cabot, check both sides of the system. The county clerk issues the license and publishes local fees. ADH handles the state certificate request. A divorce coupon from ADH proves the event was registered, but the full divorce court file is a court record that may require Search ARCourts and the circuit clerk.

Cabot Jail and Registry Records

Law-enforcement records for Cabot split among city police request channels, the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office, state correction records, and public-safety registries. The Sheriff's Office lists detention and jail roster services, a 24-hour phone number of 501-676-3001, and an office at 440 Dee Dee Lane in Lonoke. Its roster interface includes Current Inmates, New Inmates, and Recent Releases.

The Arkansas Division of Correction inmate search is separate from the county jail. It covers state custody and offers search options including ADC number and county. The Arkansas sex offender registry allows public searching by address, city, county, ZIP code, or place, with a map view. DPS materials explain that public web information is limited by risk level and publishable status, so a missing registry result is not proof that no law-enforcement record exists.

Use limit. Jail and registry data can support personal safety and civic awareness, but it must not be used to threaten, harass, stalk, or intimidate anyone.

Cabot Records Arkansas Keeps Restricted

Open-records law does not make every file visible. Arkansas court access is limited by Administrative Order 19, sealing rules, juvenile restrictions, confidential case types, and redaction of protected identifiers. The Lonoke Circuit Clerk site also calls out juvenile court records as an exception to public permanent court records.

Vital records have their own eligibility rules. Recent birth, death, marriage, and divorce records are not open to any requester until the 100-year or 50-year period applies. Adoption files and many adoption court records are separately restricted. Voter records also have secure-voter protections: Arkansas rules prevent reproduction of a secure voter's address unless otherwise authorized. Address confidentiality and protected-person rules can affect what appears in voter, license, and agency records.

Custodian
The office or agency that maintains the record and decides the proper access channel.
Index
A searchable list or docket entry that points to a record but may not include the full image or file.
Certified copy
An official copy issued by the custodian, often with extra fee, mail, eligibility, or prepayment rules.
Exemption
A statute, court rule, or order that withholds or redacts information from normal public inspection.

Requesting Cabot Public Records Under FOIA

The Arkansas Freedom of Information Act, Ark. Code Ann. §§ 25-19-101 et seq., is the general request path for city, county, school, state, and other public-body records. Ark. Code Ann. § 25-19-105 is the core inspection and copying section. Arkansas Attorney General guidance says government entities generally have up to three business days when records are in active use or storage, and copy charges are limited to actual reproduction cost plus mailing.

  1. Identify the custodian. Use Cabot City Hall for city records, Lonoke Circuit Clerk for court or recorder copies, County Clerk for marriage and election files, ADH for vital records, and the Sheriff for jail or law-enforcement routing.
  2. Check the online channel first. Search ARCourts, ARCountyData, VoterView, ADC inmate search, or the registry may give the case number, parcel, date, or name needed for a precise request.
  3. Describe the record with enough detail. Include names, addresses, case or document numbers, dates, record type, and whether inspection, plain copies, electronic copies, or certified copies are requested.
  4. Ask about cost and delivery. For Circuit Clerk copies, note the research finding that faxed copies, if approved, cost $1.00 per page and certified copies must be mailed with prepayment.
  5. If access is denied or delayed, ask for the specific exemption or statute. Narrow the request if needed, then use Arkansas FOIA guidance for remedies.

Cabot Records That Need Office Requests

The "everything is online" shortcut fails for several Cabot record types. The official Circuit Clerk site did not publish online land-record index years or a public land-record search URL. Lonoke County Clerk records include a vault room used by title searchers and genealogy researchers, but exact historical coverage dates were not published online. Cabot business-license and permit case searches were not found as searchable public portals.

Use the office fallback chain instead of guessing. For deeds, mortgages, liens, and older property instruments, gather parcel details from ARCountyData and request the recorder search or copy from the Circuit Clerk. For marriage, assumed-name, estate, guardianship, adoption, election, and older vault records, contact the County Clerk. For permits, inspections, code complaints, and local licenses, route the request through Cabot City Hall, Planning and Zoning, or the city clerk channel. For historical residents, the Lonoke County Libraries genealogy program and Arkansas State Archives can fill gaps with newspapers, local-history documents, and archival records.
